I've received a couple of reports this afternoon from our retailer members that a man is making the rounds in our area, going into our stores claiming that he had bought gifts for his daughter who then passed away over the holidays and he would now like to return the items. He has no receipts and in fact it appears that he is actually shoplifting items before heading to the cash desk to ask for a refund. For those of…

A couple of pieces of business for today. First, just a reminder to please fully clear the snow and ice in front of your businesses and please salt. We've had a couple of complaints about slipping and falling in the past couple of days. Secondly, below is an email from the City's Sign By-law/Permit department. I encourage you to please read through the information to ensure that you're in compliance with the City's rules on signage. One of the big…

First off, thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to our Thrill of the Holidays event this past Saturday. The strolling carolers and santa were a hit; the winners of our Holiday Treasure Hunt were beyond Thrilled and many of them were introduced to new businesses in our area that they hadn't visited yet. Our Book City was hopping with customers - always so great to see people buying actual books! All of the event photos are on our…
