Join the Broadview Danforth BIA on June 12 and 13 for outdoor match-day fun, live music, family-friendly activities, local performances, and a special viewing party for Canada’s opening match against Bosnia and Herzegovina. The celebration continues through July 2 with musicians performing in CafeTO parkettes across the neighbourhood, representing cultures and countries from around the world. As you know from my recent emails your BIA Board of Directors and I have been lobbying against the City's proposed Patio Fees increase. There was quite a substantial amount of media coverage on this issue this week as well. Attached please find a letter that both Councilor Fletcher and Councilor Fragedakis have sent to the appropriate people at City Hall expressing their concerns and their call for revisions on this matter.

Regarding the earlier notice about a public meeting to discuss proposed higher fees for use of patio space or marketing space, the City of Toronto will be making presentation materials available online. The project website (www.toronto.ca/mlshaveyoursay) will be updated to include this presentation. This will allow stakeholders who are unable to attend to watch the meeting in real time (ie live) or at a time that is more convenient to them. The deadline for submission is Thursday May 18, 2017 or when all of the funds have been committed. Last year all of the funds were committed by May 6th.
