Snow Removal Update - Wed. Feb. 26/25

Good Afternoon All.

I've received the following update from my contact at Transportation Services regarding our snow removal. I will also be getting an update from them every morning for the next few days. This will be a huge help in allowing me to keep each of you updated.

Okay here's where we're at today:

  • Last night the snow removal crews did the south side of Danforth from Broadview to Greenwood. They removed the snow mounds on the road side. The snow mounds on the sidewalk curbside have not yet been removed.
  • The north side of Danforth is on the schedule for tonight. Again removing the road side mounds.
  • I've sent photos of the sidewalk curbside mounds and they have now been flagged to be removed as much as possible but Transportation has said that they can't get them all fully removed. They will do the best they can.
  • For our Broadview section - I do not have an update on when the crews will be in our area. I have asked and am waiting for an answer.
  • The problem: there is snow predicted for tonight, Friday & Saturday. We're all hoping this doesn't happen but if it does then the removal operations will be put on hold and the crews will switch to plowing and salting. Once any new snow is dealt with the crews will return to the removal process.
  • Please help: given the mild temperatures today and yesterday there has been melting which means the sidewalks are wet; the temperatures are going to drop starting tonight so please salt your full frontage areas. Also, can you each take a look around your frontages and if there is a small pile of snow could you please get your shovels and clear it up - I've attached a pic as a sample of what I'm referring to.

Thanks,

Susan
