Good Morning Broadview Danforth BIA Members,
We've made it to the merry month of May! This means that preparations are underway for our summer activations as follows:
CafeTO Street Set-Up:
- Transportation Services will be in our BIA this coming Monday, May 5th (weather permitting) to do the annual shifting of bike and parking lanes in order to accommodate members who are participating in CafeTO this year.
- All of our restaurant curb lane patios and our BIA parkettes will be located on the south side of Danforth this year. This means that the lane shifting will only happen on the south side. The north side of Danforth will remain as it is now.
- Once Transportation has completed the work and all of the safety barriers are in place they will allow the curb lane patios to be installed. I'm happy to report that this is happening almost a month earlier than last year.
- We are once again bringing back our BD Beats live music series! We will launch the program on Thursday, June 5th and it will run through to Sunday, August 31st (Labour Day weekend).
- Live music will take place in our BIA CafeTO parkettes on Thursday and Friday evenings from 6 to 9pm; and, in the courtyard of the Carrot Common on Sunday afternoons from 1 to 4pm.
- A huge thanks to Jane (Noonan's) and Mandy (The Epochal Imp) for once again serving as our Music Co-ordinators and taking on the task of booking all of the fabulous local, Canadian bands.
- Our sponsors this year include The Carrot Common, Quality Optical and Choice Properties (No Frills/Loblaws). A huge thanks to them for their generous support of this program.
