Good Afternoon Broadview Danforth BIA Members,
I need your help/feedback. I had a meeting with the creators of Treasure Trove Toronto. This company has worked with other BIAs and creates a treasure hunt experience for consumers. Here are the main components:
- Free admission for consumers
- Clues are developed and placed in participating businesses, including retail stores, restaurants, and service providers.
- Consumers who enter the "hunt" receive a starting business. They go to that business to get the clue. After texting the answer back to the organizers they receive the next business to visit, continuing this process through all participating businesses.
- As a participating business you can use this opportunity to promote your products, offer a special sale or provide samples. It's up to you how you maximize the opportunity.
- Everyone who finishes the hunt is entered into a draw for the grand prize, which is cash.
- At the end of the hunt event, each participating business receives a list of players who visited their location - names and email addresses.
- The fee for each business to participate is $100.00. There is an additional booking fee that the BIA will cover.
- For the hunt to be successful we need a minimum of 15 participating businesses. We can accommodate more, but this would be the minimum number.
If we choose Treasure Trove Toronto we would book the hunt for Saturday, June 13, 11am to 5pm. This would be part of our FIFA Community Celebration events taking place on Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13. In addition to the hunt on the Saturday, we will also have live music, face painters, and balloon twisters throughout the area.
Your Feedback:
Please let me know if you are interested in doing this. I'm proposing this as an alternative to doing a sidewalk sale. This idea came from some of you during our AGM this past November.
