Thrill of the Grill 10th Anniversary Celebration

Good Afternoon All,

I'm living in hope, as I'm sure you all are, that this cold, icy weather moves on and makes way for sunshine and warm breezes.  With that hope in mind, I wanted to update everyone on our plans for the 10th Anniversary celebration of our BIA's annual Thrill of the Grill event.

Following last year's event, we met with several members of the BIA and discussed different ways to produce this event that might balance the various needs of our members.  Following those discussions as well as many internal discussions and discussions with the City's events permits department we believe that we have a good plan for this year.

Thrill 2019 will be held on Saturday, June 22 but it will be an evening event running from 6pm to 10pm.  This means that the Danforth will not be closed to traffic until 3pm in the afternoon.  With this later closure our retailers will have the majority of the day to do business without interruptions and our restaurants that offer brunch can also do so without interruption.  The road closure will be from Broadview to Playter Avenues - this allows traffic to access the Danforth from Jackman Avenue without any issues.

Saturday, June 22 is the first Saturday of the summer season and is just before the long Canada Day weekend when people tend to start their vacations.  So we will be promoting Thrill as a Summer Soiree - inviting consumers to enjoy their first Summer dinner on the Danforth.   We have a wonderful line-up of restaurants participating and are doing very well with confirming our corporate sponsors.

As always, we will do our best to promote our wonderful BIA through this event and encourage our guests to spend time in our area throughout the rest of the summer season.

Thank you,
Susan
