Celebrate soccer, music, and community on the Danforth with The World Within Our Neighbourhood — a free summer event bringing people together through the joy of the beautiful game. Join the Broadview Danforth BIA on June 12 and 13 for outdoor match-day fun, live music, family-friendly activities, local performances, and a special viewing party for Canada’s opening match against Bosnia and Herzegovina. The celebration continues through July 2 with musicians performing in CafeTO parkettes across the neighbourhood, representing cultures and countries from around the world. Come cheer, explore, dance, eat, shop, and experience the incredible mix of global sounds, local businesses, and community spirit that make Broadview Danforth feel like the world in one neighbourhood.

Information for Broadview Danforth BIA Members

Good Morning All,

I have a few things for you today as follows:

1. COVID19 Information:

The City has set up a website that provides information on the virus. The site is updated regularly and is a good source of credible information. They have also provided guidance for businesses.

o For sector specific guidance documents for businesses and workplaces please see COVID-19 Workplace Info

Website: www.toronto.ca/coronavirus. You can also call Toronto Public Health at 416-338-7600, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Translation is available in many languages.

2. Hydro Scam:

One of our members has given me the head's up that there is a Toronto Hydro scam on the go. This member received a call from someone claiming to be from Toronto Hydro and they stated that there were unpaid bills etc. and wanting immediate payment or the hydro would be disconnected. This member knew that all of their bill payments were up to date so wasn't falling for the scam. However the scammers are spoofing a phone number that matches Toronto Hydro. If you receive a call like this please hang up and call Toronto Hydro directly if you wish to check the status of your account.

3. Member requesting information:

One of our members is looking for recommendations on setting up an ecommerce site for their clients. If any of you have such a site and have information that you're willing to share please let me know and I will put you in touch with the member.

4. Space for Rent Listings:

We are in the process of adding a new component to our website. TABIA and the City of Toronto BIA office have partnered with SpaceList. Once this is up and running on our website we will be able to promote any space within our BIA that is available for rent.

5. TASTE 2020 Update:

We have had a follow-up meeting with Greektown BIA and presented our idea of replacing the Broadview stage with a ferris wheel. Greektown BIA's Board Chair has not approved the change for this year. This may be something that we can do next year. For this year we will be proceeding with having the stage at Broadview and Danforth.

Thanks,

Susan
