I have a few things for you today:
Provincial Grant Second Payment
We have heard that the Province has started to issue the second payments to those who applied for the Small Business Grant. If you were approved for the first payment then you will automatically receive a second payment which matches the amount of your first payment. As with all of these payments, it may take a couple of weeks to process into your accounts. If you do receive your second payment could you please let me know - just so I know that it's happening.
CafeTO & Destination Danforth
The original plan was to start rebuilding our Danforth section to accommodate this year's CafeTO program in the next week or so - the aim is/was to have CafeTO ready to go for the May long weekend. As you will remember from last year this involves shifting the bike lanes, shifting parking and setting up the curb lane patios. The current Stay At Home order is in effect until May 20th. At this time we don't know what zone we will be moved into on May 21. In order to do outdoor dining we need to be moved into a modified Grey Zone. As of yesterday (Tuesday) the CafeTO team stated that the plan is to proceed with the building of the curb lane patio spaces but.... the spaces will be left empty until such time that we can reopen outdoor dining. To be honest, this is a constantly moving process and this plan may be modified - I will keep you all updated as we go.
Chester Subway Station Renovation Now Complete
Some of you may remember that, in our pre-Covid life, we were working with the TTC on the enhancement of the Chester Subway Station. This work has been going on for quite some time but it is now complete. The Chester station now has a second entrance and an elevator. Attached please find an overview of the revamped station from the TTC.
