I'm so excited to let you know that we're able to host a Holiday event in our BIA this year! We are ensuring that it is safe while encouraging people to come to our area for all of their holiday shopping and dining.
Here's the details:
Our Love Of Local Shopping Llama that you see quite often in our social media posts has been decked out for the holiday season and has magically transformed into a 6ft inflatable Love of Local Llama! We've named it BD (Broadview Danforth) The Holiday Llama.
BD will be overseeing a Love of Local Holiday Llama Scavenger Hunt running from Saturday, December 4th through to Sunday, December 19th. We will be encouraging all of our great consumers to stroll through our BIA and spot the Holiday Llama photo. We NEED your help to make this part work: if you're interested in having a Love of Local Llama Scavenger Hunt poster for your window please let me know. That's all you have to do - we will create the poster, deliver it to you and even help put it in your window! On December 20th we will draw a name from those who have done the hunt and found all of the Holiday Llamas and the prize will be a $250.00 Broadview Danforth BIA gift bag.
Event Launch:
We will launch the hunt on Saturday, December 4 from noon to 2pm in the courtyard of the Carrot Common - by our LoveTO Heart. BD will be there and so too will the Jingle Belles - a group of carollers from the Canadian Opera Company (they will be fully masked). And we have partnered with Toronto Miracle, a volunteer based group who are attempting to collect 250,000 lbs of non-perishable food items in one day. We will be asking people to stop by and drop off their items, receive one of our fabulous BIA tote bags, enjoy the carollers and start their Llama hunt! Toronto Miracle will take all of the items that they receive and deliver them to local food banks so they have supplies for the holiday season. Throughout the pandemic food banks have struggled to meet the needs of so many and the holiday season is a time when they truly need some extra help. We're so happy to do our part to lend a hand.
BD The Holiday Llama is available....
BD is also available if any of you would like to have our inflatable either in front of your business, on your patio etc. You just need an outdoor regular power source. BD is more than happy to make special guest appearances over the holidays! When not making appearances BD will be keeping our LoveTO Heart company at the Carrot Common.
