Additional Information re: Jan. 31 easing of restrictions

Good Morning BIA members,

Following yesterday's announcement from the Premier I had a number of calls and emails from you asking for some clarifications.  Here's what I've been able to hunt down and find so far.....

1. Last Call
For our restaurant and bar members, the rumour from sources at Queen's Park is that the last call restrictions will be lifted on Jan. 31 and you can return to your normal operating hours.  This would be great news - however, I caution you that this isn't guaranteed until they officially announce it and that announcement is currently scheduled for some time next week.

2. Concert Venues, Arenas & Cinemas
This applies to our Danforth Music Hall - you are able to open with the capacity limits that have been listed but you can NOT serve any food or drinks.  I know this isn't the news you were hoping for.  Again this is in place for the Jan. 31 reopening; I'm not sure if this will continue for the Feb. reopening phase.

3. Personal Care Services
This is for our members who offer facial and electrolysis treatments - at the moment it looks like the restriction that clients can't remove their masks is still in place for the Jan. 31 reopening.  I'm trying to confirm this and am hoping some clarification may be included in the announcement from the Province next week.  I know that this restriction has meant that you can't operate your business - as soon as I can confirm one way or another I will let you know.

4. Tutoring Businesses
For our members who offer extra tutoring for children - my understanding is you are able to reopen to in-person on Jan. 31.

Again if any one has questions etc. please don't hesitate to email me.

Thanks,
Susan
