Good Afternoon All, Please note that I've included MP Julie Dabrusin, MPP Peter Tabuns, and Councillor Fletcher in the top send line of this email today. First, I'd like to thank all of you who have taken the time to fill in our second survey for both tenants and landlords. The survey will close this coming Monday at noon. If you haven't filled in the survey I ask that you please do so and please pass it on to your…

Good Morning All, As I mentioned yesterday, we are conducting a second survey and need your help again. This survey follows up from the first one and is focused on getting feedback on the Commercial Rent Relief Program. Once again there are 2 surveys: one for commercial tenants; and, one for commercial landlords. I would ask that our commercial tenant members please forward this email to your landlord so they can participate - I have limited access to landlords' email…

We, however, have been working with our 3 government reps: MP Julie Dabrusin, MPP Peter Tabuns, and Councillor Paula Fletcher to see what can be done to improve the current situation with the rent issue. Here's where we're at: Provincial NDP Leader Andrea Horwath Media Conference: - Peter Tabuns has been working with his NDP colleagues and NDP…

Hi All, Just a quick second update. Some of you may have noticed the large cones on the north side of Danforth in front of the LCBO and the Shopper's Drug Mart. These are part of the City's Curb TO program that was launched earlier this week. This is a program designed for the current circumstances of social distancing and provides for extra walking space in front of businesses that have daily long line-ups in front of their locations. Photo…

Good Morning All, The PM's daily briefing this morning was focused on the Federal government's ban on military assault rifles. So I do not have a Federal update on the Commercial Rent Relief Program. It is May 1st and it is rent day for our business and landlord members. The Federal/Provincial commercial rent relief program has not yet opened for applications and is still missing many details and refinements important to those who might consider using it. It is the…
