Thank You

We wish to thank everyone who came out to our #BDBeatsTO live music program here in our Broadview Danforth BIA. We launched the program at the beginning of June and it’s been a wonderful summer of jazz, blues, rock ‘n roll, new music and old school favs. We’ve had over 50 bands bring their talent to our BIA and with an average of 3 people per band we’ve welcomed over 150 Toronto musicians.

It has been a real treat to see everyone’s smiling faces again here on our main streets. And all of your support for our local businesses has been greatly appreciated. A big thanks goes out as well to our members @mandys_on_the_danforth & @noonansirishpub for their dedication, time and passion in curating all of the bands featured at our music hubs throughout this summer.

And a very grateful thank you to our sponsors #CarrotCommon@choicereit@secondcupcanada@freshrestaurants, & to the City of Toronto and the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario through the Main Street Recovery & Rebuild Initiative for all the funding support, which made this initiative a possibility for our community.

The Sunflower Project

In celebration of BD Beats, BIA business member @cobsdanforth (156 Danforth Ave.) will be spearheading ‘The Sunflower Project’ , a fundraiser in support of a Ukrainian family’s recent resettlement in Toronto. Vibrant solar powered sunflowers (the official flower of Ukraine) will be available beginning at noon on June 4 with proceeds going directly to the family. A group of volunteer youth will be selling the sunflowers for a minimum donation of $20 each at the BIA CafeTO parkette located in the curb lane enclosure in front of COBS. The goal is to sell one hundred sunflowers by 3pm. For those unable to attend but wishing to make a donation, please click below
