Good Afternoon BIA Members,
Here are my updates and information pieces for today:
Broadview South Construction:
- Some very good news as we head into the Thanksgiving weekend - we've been able to open up the southbound traffic lane! Cars can now travel north and south on Broadview between Danforth and Gerrard. This is ahead of schedule.
- The contractor still has some curb lane work to do. Once this is complete we will be able to bring back on-street parking. I'm hoping that this will happen sometime next week.
- PLEASE NOTE: there will still be no TTC buses or streetcars running in this section due to the construction that is on-going in our Broadview north section.
- Once Broadview north construction is complete the TTC will then be able to start the testing stage of this whole project to make sure that these new rails are in good working order.
Broadview North Construction:
- Work is progressing in this section. The streetcar loop at the station has been completely trenched out.
- Fencing is up around our entire section of Broadview north - really tall fencing!
- Erindale is closed to all through traffic - only traffic for the houses in this section is allowed. Ellerbeck, Pretoria and Cambridge are taking the hit for increased traffic in order to get around in this area.

- October is Small Business Month and there are a few special opportunities being offered to small businesses.

This week, our partners at Mastercard announced the expansion of the Mastercard x Pier Five Small Business Fund. Now in its second year, the Mastercard x Pier Five Small Business Fund will provide ten women-owned businesses with $10,000 CAD in funding each to help grow and scale their business. In addition, Mastercard will bring the Fund recipients together for a Priceless Experience in Toronto to connect them with Mastercard executives, partners and a community of peers. Until November 5, 2023, Canadian women small business owners can apply for the Mastercard x Pier Five Small Business Fund.
