Good Afternoon All,
Hard to believe that today is the last full day of summer and we are heading into the fall season with continued construction work. Please read the details below as the upcoming closures will affect everyone.
Broadview North Closure:
- Broadview from Danforth to Erindale will be closed to ALL traffic starting this coming Monday, Sept. 25 and this will last for at least 30 days. The closure is scheduled to start between 6 and 7am on Monday.
- Southbound traffic (heading south from Mortimer) on Broadview will be rerouted at Pretoria. At Pretoria traffic can either head over to Cambridge in order to access the westbound lane of the bridge or head east on Pretoria and then divert south to get to the Danforth.
- The Green P at Erindale will still be accessible.
- For our BIA members in this section a loading zone will be established so that your deliveries can continue. For any of your customers who drive they will need to find parking and then walk into this section. All of the sidewalks will be open.
- For our BIA members on the north side of Danforth between Ellerbeck and Broadview your delivery trucks will still be able to access your back lane off of Ellerbeck.
- East and westbound traffic on Danforth will be able to continue going east and west as normal.
- Attached please find the TTC notice for this closure - it contains full details on how this will roll out.
- On Friday, September 29 starting at 7pm the Broadview Danforth intersection will be partially closed. There will be one lane heading east and one lane heading west only.
- At 5am on Saturday, September 30 the intersection will be fully closed to ALL traffic. This full closure should run from 5am to approximately noon.
- There will be traffic management teams located on the west entrance to the bridge, at Parliament, on Broadview south, and on the Danforth during this closure.
- For businesses who receive overnight or very early morning deliveries please let your suppliers know that traffic will be rerouted during this period.
- For everyone please use your social media platforms to let your customers know about this closure. We will also do a number of social media posts covering this and the Broadview north 30 day closure.
Broadview South:
- Some good news - all of the track work is now complete.
- The northbound traffic lane has now been moved to the centre track lane on Broadview.
- We anticipate that the grinding work should start in our section next week. This will be loud and messy. Once started the grinding should take about 3 days to complete.
- Once the grinding is done then we move to the first phase of laying asphalt - this is the base layer. This will be followed by a top layer.
CafeTO Removal:
- I've received notification from the City that our CafeTO summer set-up will be removed on Tuesday, October 17.
- This means that we will be returning to our Fall/Winter set-up and the return of parking spaces that were removed to accommodate CafeTO.
