Happy first Friday of Spring - good grief it feels more like winter! Here's the information I have for you this week:
TTC Closures
Broadview North Hydro Work:
- To our BIA members located on Broadview between Danforth and Pretoria, I'm so sorry to have to let you know ..... Toronto Hydro will be starting work in your section in and around April 2/24 through to July 2024. This work is needed in order to provide power to the new condo that is being built on Broadview at Erindale.
- The work involves trenching, sidewalk closures on the west side and traffic lane restrictions.
- Work will take place Monday - Friday from approximately 7am to 7pm.
- I've been assured that you will not experience any power outages during this work but...... please let me know if something does happen.
- The communications that I'm receiving from Toronto Hydro are not at the same level that I'm used to receiving from City teams but I will do my best to get updates from Toronto Hydro and pass them on to you when available.
- For our members on Broadview south of Danforth, I'm taking the opportunity of having Toronto Hydro in the area to see if we can do something about increasing the wattage of light in your section so it's not so dark in the evenings. Many of you have flagged this issue with me so I will see what can be done.
- The City will start the construction on the back laneway early/mid April.
- This work should run until late May and will affect deliveries, parking etc. in the laneway section.
- There is a zoom meeting set for this coming Tuesday, March 26 with the City and business members from this section. If for some reason you did not receive an email from me with the zoom link and would like to attend please let me know.
- A couple of weeks ago I had sent you information on this grant. The deadline to apply is March 31/24 - no extension will be given.
- The Business Sustainability Grant offers up to $20,000 to an independent business owner to help you grow your business. Please note: this is a grant which means you do NOT have to match the funds or repay the funds! Below is the link to the My Main Street website

Greek Independence Day Parade:
- For the first time since I started this job many years ago I've been given advance notice of this parade date!
- The parade will take place on Sunday, April 7/24
- Danforth will be closed to traffic from Broadview to Donlands
- Road Closure: 11am to 4pm; Parade: 1:30pm to 3:30pm
