Friday, September 8/23 Update

Good Afternoon BIA Folks,

I hope everyone has survived this first week back to regular schedules, back to school etc.  Here are the updates on our ongoing construction projects.

Broadview South of Danforth:
  • Some good news!  The work in our section has moved along very quickly and the crew is ahead of schedule by one week!  Holy Hannah!  This never happens.  Please note that we do have an open pit that is about 20 metres on Broadview just south of Danforth.  There is some further work that needs to happen but just in this area.
  • So moving forward we will be able to restore the delivery zone back to the west side of Broadview (in our section) starting next week.  This will make things easier for our members in this section.
  • Also starting next week we will be able to open the north and middle driveways for our Loblaws.  The south driveway will be closed as work will be taking place from that point through to Wolfrey.
  • Starting at some point this weekend we will be able to allow left hand turns from the south/east corner of Broadview and Danforth - this will allow people to turn left and access the bridge.
  • Also this weekend we will be able to allow cars travelling south on Broadview from Mortimer to make right turns to access the bridge and left turns to head east on Danforth when they reach the Broadview Danforth intersection.  NOTE: these turns will only be allowed until the Broadview North section is closed to traffic.
Broadview North of Danforth:
  • This morning the TTC clarified the schedule for the full closure of Broadview from Danforth to Erindale.  The work will start this Monday, September 11th at 7am however it is prep work which means that traffic will still be allowed in this section.  I've asked for a confirmed closure date from the TTC but they couldn't provide that today.  It could be the 12th or some other date next week.  To say the least I find this very irritating.  As soon as I know I will let you all know.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns about all of this please just send me an email.

Have a good weekend!

Susan
