Prime Minister's Morning Announcements

Good Afternoon All,

Please note that our MP Julie Dabrusin is included in message (originally sent as email) - should you wish to make comments and/or have questions please email her and ourselves: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

This morning in the PM's daily update he covered the following:

Expansion of the Canadian Emergency Response Benefit:
The Feds will be expanding the eligibility for this fund to include people who are still working but have had their hours greatly reduced and therefore need some additional financial help.

Credit Card Interest Rates to be Cut in Half:
The PM announced that the 6 major banks and some Credit Unions will be cutting credit card interest rates by half.

75% Wage Subsidy:
Again this is only beneficial to those businesses who still have employees working - so perhaps some of the restaurants, food shops, pet stores, computer/tech stores who have brought back staff to deal with take-out/delivery - pick-up/delivery.  However it is still NOT up and running.

Julie - if you could please provide information on when the above items will be rolled out and available to people that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Susan
